ENROLLMENT AT CSU SYSTEM campuses is breaking records after the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Students are returning to campus in record numbers. It’s wonderful news for our students and the state and its workforce, and it demonstrates how well people understand the long-term value of a college credential,” CSU System Chancellor Tony Frank said.

Colorado State University, the System’s flagship in Fort Collins, welcomed its largest entering class in history last August. More than 5,500 first-year students arrived for the Fall 2022 term. Sixty percent are Colorado residents, with nearly 500 students from rural communities. The entering fall class is 28 percent diverse, and 25 percent are the first in their families to attend college; the class has an average GPA of 3.70. CSU in Fort Collins has a total on-campus student headcount of nearly 30,000.

CSU Pueblo exceeded its enrollment target for full-time freshmen, with 645 new first-year students – a 12 percent increase. The campus also welcomed an increased number of transfer students. CSU Pueblo has a total enrollment of more than 3,500.

About 9,500 students enrolled at CSU Global during the online university’s fall term. CSU Global has more than 13,500 active students in classes with rolling, monthly starts. Thirty percent of its students are the first in their families to attend college; 34 percent reside in Colorado, with other students living around the world. CSU Global recently celebrated the 11th year of a tuition freeze, which, coupled with no student fees, makes it an affordable option for students in Colorado and beyond.

The CSU System has invested $11.2 million in the Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses over three years to support student success, close equity gaps, and increase retention and graduation rates. Additional funding supporting rural student enrollment should result in closer connectivity with rural school districts and students.
