MAKING WAVES
Hydro is now open at CSU Spur, completing the one-of-a-kind CSU System campus in north Denver. Hydro offers public education, research, and policy discussions related to water. It joins Vida, which focuses on health, and Terra, centered on food and agriculture.

Rapid decline
The Colorado River Basin is in crisis. Brad Udall, an eminent CSU climate researcher, describes the implications of a 23-year megadrought for Colorado and six surrounding states. Here, 40 million people and 5.5 million farm acres depend on the river and its tributaries.
Amache
A CSU alumnus who teaches in the tiny town of Granada, Colorado, rallied his students and worked closely with a community of Japanese Americans to resurrect painful history at Camp Amache, leading to its new status as a National Historic Site.
Saluting military students
At CSU Global, students with military ties make up 13 percent of total enrollment, and the online university offers several programs to help them succeed. Now, the school ranks No. 6 in the nation for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans.

New president
Amy Parsons returns to Colorado State University as its 16th president, focusing on issues including faculty compensation and access for students from traditionally underserved groups. She earlier held leadership roles with CSU and the CSU System.
Makeover coming
The Clark Building is the busiest academic building on the CSU campus in Fort Collins, but it’s been largely unchanged since 1968. That is set to change.
Enrollment records
At the CSU System’s three degree-granting campuses, enrollment is rebounding after the COVID-19 pandemic. The flagship in Fort Collins, for instance, welcomed its largest freshman class in August.
In memory: Joe Blake
